It's all Greek to me (Pie vs. Pi)

Pie vs. Pi (c)juitaj@gmail.com
I was messing around with coloured clay today. Another common phrase
sprang to mind, and soon enough I had shaped these little things: a
pie, and the Greek symbol called 'Pi'

Large shoes to fill

Big shoes to fill (c)juitaj@gmail.com
Lately I'm loving an iPhone app that makes the iPhone photos I've
taken look like old film-developed photographs.
Here's a photograph I took of a small Lego person climbing a ladder to
fill in a pair of large shoes.
'Large / Big shoes to fill' - (idiom) to have to meet high
expectations about something that came before

A quote...

The most vigilant self-criticism of course is necessary, but the time comes when the artist must tell himself he is good or he will go under.

Selected, whee!

I am delighted! I received an email to the tune of:

Dear Artist: I am happy to let you know that your artwork has been chosen for inclusion in Patti Digh's next book, WHAT I WISH FOR YOU: Simple Wisdom for a Happy Life, to be published under our Skirt imprint in April, 2011. Thank you again for sharing your talent, and for your continued support of Patti's books.

Delighted! It was just a doodle that I submitted. And more delightful to me is the fact that I adore Patti's writing. She also has a blog at www.37days.com - after her in-law was diagnosed with illness and only had 37 days to live, Patti decided to write down what she herself would have done in the same situation - how would she spend her last 37 days, what would she do? When the answers were in hand, she thought, 'why don't I do all this now, when I still have some time with me?' From this, her blog and books have touched many across the world.

I'm happy to be part of this new book in a small way :) Skippety-skip!
